Skill Levels

We are aware that human capital is one of the most important factors in the decision-making process. Guanajuato has close to 140,000 high school students with more than 30% of the alumni enrolled in technically oriented programs. Moreover, every year 32,000 + young students are graduating from high school. Last year, our industry driven state training institute (IECA) trained more than 140,000 students allowing the State of Guanajuato to become the national leader in “tailor made” training programs in Mexico. That only happens in a Business Oriented State such as Guanajuato, that has followed a consistent public policy regarding strategies to support Foreign Direct Investment, for the last 20 years.

Education

A dedicated Training System has been developed to prepare local talent for industry needs through the IECA (State Training Institute), a state-of-the-art training centers strategically located throughout the state to improve technical skills.

Automotive Companies will be able to train their new hires in more than 30 IECA Training Centers, equipped with multiple workshops and machinery as CNC, Core Tool, Metrology equipment, Robotic Arms, Plastic Injection, Welding among others

Opportunities

We foresee great business opportunities to strengthen regional automotive supply chain, related to Electrical Vehicle Components, Industry 4.0, electronics, software development, R&D, high precision plastic injection, additive manufacturing, and fuel efficiency solutions.
Additionally, we expect an increase of Foreign Direct Investment due to new rules of origin into North America for Auto and Auto parts.
Specific imported commodities may need to be manufacture in Mexico in the near future as Body accessories, motor parts, air purification equipment, brake system parts, air conditioning parts, suspension systems, electronics, seats parts, iron, steel, aluminum and zinc parts, plastic interior parts.
